NEW VIDEO: Do you know Georgia??? Take the test
Welcome to the second installment of our video series on our video campaign.
Our goal is to have 20,000 people donate at least $1 by June 1st, 2010 in order to make our 2010 programs possible.
From our first video we received $116 so far and over 500 views. Lets keep it going! We need 19,500 more to reach our goal.
This video was yet again inspired about the lack of knowledge of Georgia in the US. We want to put peoples knowledge to the test: What do you think of when you hear Georgia??

"Georgia the state vs. Georgia the Country" Watch the videos
We are kicking off our 2010 fund raising drive starting today April 22nd.
Our goal is to have 20,000 people to donate at least $1 by June 1st, 2010 in order to make our 2010 programs possible. That sounds crazy and you may ask: how are you going to do it?
Well, with your help. People are more connected than ever, through facebook, twitter, youtube and all other types of social networking tools. But why? We believe people want to maintain connections with their friends, co-workers and to build new relationships so that they can share things they care about!
To help the cause we have created a series of funny movies playing off the misconception between Georgia the state and Georgia the country. We thought to ourselves if they had to fight who would win? We will be coming out with a few over the next few days but our first one is below.

OLEG raises awareness for Georgian education at the annual SJCA v. USNA croquet game
Our OLEG members were out to raise awareness at the Annual Croquet match between St. John's College and the US Naval Academy on April 17th, 2010 in Annapolis, MD. This match has a long standing tradition and is an important event in the life of St. John's College.
It was at exactly this event in 2008 that OLEG got its start and first began spreading the opportunity for others to support liberal education in the country of Georgia. OLEG has come a long way since 2008, from a student group to a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Since 2008 we have facilitated two trips that saw 15 St. John's students and tutors travel to Georgia to support and strengthen a new liberal arts college in the country of Georgia.
This year we are expanding our work and need the support of our communities even more. In our 2010 Program this June we will be taking senior tutors Patricia Locke and Louis Petrich along with 4 St. John's students to run a course with the faculty and students of our partners at New Gelati Academy. To continue this work we will need to raise $20,000 by June 1st.
Thanks to all the new and old friends that we met at the croquet match. We could not have made it this far with out you!
Please give a gift of $50 today to support our programs.
Thanks you.
OLEG Supports the 2nd Annual "Georgia On My Mind" Jazz concert
On Sunday, April 11th OLEG supports attended the "Georgia On My Mind" is a jazz concert featuring The Luke Russell Trio (Listen to them). The event was put on by our friends at St. John's College, the "Qartuli Club." The Qartuli club, which means "Georgian" in Georgian is organized to educate the St. John's community about the richness of Georgian culture. The concert featured: * Live jazz music
* Food and cultural information from Georgia
The music and the food was fantastic and we got a chance to spread the word about Georgian culture and OLEG's 2010 Summer Program. You can listen to a track by the Luke Russell Trio below and see more pictures on our facebook group.
